The Netball Program at St Margaret’s is supported by a highly qualified group of coaches with many years of experience. This group has coached and managed at school, district, regional, state and national levels.

Australian Player and Queensland Firebird Coach, Vicki Wilson, is the Patron of Netball at St Margaret’s. In the Primary School, Vicki runs a yearly clinic for Primary School students before the start of Club Season. At these clinics girls are coached and encouraged by Vicki Wilson and other State and Australian Netball Coaches.

Nursery Netball

This is the foundation for the development of Netball at St Margaret’s. Tracey Bruce (Level 3 coach) and Amanda Staff (Level 2 coach) run this program and is offered to all Year 1, 2, 3 girls in Term 4.

 

Season

Training commences in Term Two and the Competition commences in Term Three.

Teams

Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Senior and Open Teams.

Several teams are offered in each category. The exact number of teams is dependent upon student demand and coaching resources.

Training Venue

Windsor Park Sporting Fields.

Training Schedule

Open and A team members will be required to attend an additional conditioning session to assist in improving their physical performance.

Competition Dates and Venues

Venues vary depending upon the host school. Games are played on Saturday morning with home games being played at Brisbane Netball Association, Chermside. The QGSSSA Competition concludes in September.

Uniform

Training can be conducted in either the navy PE uniform or the specially designed netball uniform which is the Netball top with studs for team position patch with the School PE shirt and short white socks. The Open team has an all-in-one lycra body suit with skirt.
