St Margaret's School

As part of St Margaret's on-going policy to keep aligned with technological advances in education, the School has established a computer network, which links the school by a fibre optic backbone. This utilises both cable and wireless technology and has a large established body of desktop, laptop and peripheral hardware for use in a variety of studies

On this network are:

  • Computer laboratories
  • Information Centres
  • Music Centre
  • Sports Centre
  • Boarding House
  • Administration Offices
  • Staffrooms
  • Classrooms
  • Arts Centre

In addition, there is a pool of laptops for classroom and staff use and students can also borrow these laptops overnight.

Boarding students have access to a computer classroom in the evenings and on Saturdays. The computer classroom is supervised at all times and is also available to day students. Boarders have computers for their use in the Boarding House, as well as network connections in individual study units in the dormitories.

Internet access is provided for both staff and students. Students need parental permission and must have signed a copy of St Margaret's Acceptable Use Policy Document. Boarders have email access for communication with their parents.
