St Margaret's School

The Senior and Primary Information Centres have an important role in the teaching and learning processes of the school. They offer a positive and welcoming environment and provide a range of resources geared to meet the assignment requirements of the curriculum and the recreational reading interests of students.

Two teacher-librarians work in partnership with teaching staff to ensure that students locate the best resources for their information needs and that they can evaluate and synthesise what they find. The Information Centre Webpage has been designed to support students with their research needs. Our role in teaching students to be confident using both print and non-print is an important foundation to their educational journey.

The Senior Information Centre houses a collection of approximately 27,000 fiction and non-fiction books and students have access to a variety of current information sources such as newspapers and magazines in both print and electronic format. Research needs are further supported by video resources, full text on-line databases, evaluated web sites and CD Roms. The Senior Information Centre is open to students at the following time
