Ms Annabelle Chaplain

Annabelle spent her executive career in investment banking and also has extensive experience as a company director, and currently serves as the Chair of the Audit Committee for two ASX listed companies.
As a former student and the parent of two former students, she has a strong connection to the School and is deeply committed to the education of its students, so that they may achieve their professional and personal aspirations through life.
Annabelle has three children, enjoys travelling, reading and yoga.
Mr Darrell Brown

Darrell Brown joined St Margaret's School Council in 2007 as Chair of the Building & Planning Committee.
Brisbane born, Darrell attended Coorparoo Primary School and Churchie. Graduating in Architecture from the University of Queensland followed by a Master's degree in Urban Studies, Darrell formed Burling Brown & Partners Pty. Ltd. in 1972 on the Gold Coast. His practice has been responsible for the design of numerous high rise residential towers from the Gold Coast to Darwin. Commercial projects, retirement complexes & schools complete a diverse range of architectural commissions. His experience in the private school sector in master planning campuses and in design of a multitude of school building types should contribute to the overseeing of the development of the St Margaret's 10 year plan.
Darrell married Kerrie Campbell, a past student of St Anne’s, Townsville, in 1978. Kerrie's father actually attended St Margaret's in his prep year accompanied by his sister, Roma. Darrell and Kerrie have two boys and a daughter all educated within the Anglican school system on the Gold Coast. When not working the Brown family are avid snow skiers & enjoy tennis, boating and gardening.
Mrs Glenys Hodges (Waugh)

Glenys is a proud St Margaret's Old Girl, and spent eight years at the School.
She is Special Counsel at Allens Arthur Robinson, a leading Australasian law firm, and practises in the area of mergers and acquisitions, particularly in the resources industry. Glenys has acted for some of Australia's leading companies in global transactions and also specialises in structuring and advising non-profit organisations and charities.
Glenys reconnected with the School in 2001, when she acted for The Society of the Sacred Advent in the restructuring of St Margaret's and St Aidan's. She has been a member of the Council since September 2007 and is also Chair of the Risk Management Committee.
Glenys has two adult sons. She enjoys travelling, book club and spending time with family and friends.
Professor Doune Macdonald
BHMS(Ed)(Honours), PhD, MAICD
Director of School Council
Doune has a close affiliation with St Margaret’s School. She is a former student and also taught Health and Physical Education at the School in the early 1980s. Doune is currently Professor and Head of the School of Human Movement Studies at The University of Queensland. Her research interests and teaching have addressed the challenges of curriculum reform and its impact upon teachers and teaching, and more recently questions of physical activity and young people.
As an educator Doune is interested in the School’s curriculum and pedagogies and as an allied health professional she is keen to assist in promoting the school’s health orientation for students and staff. She would also like to see St Margaret’s School develop and strengthen its links with universities.
Doune enjoys travelling and a variety of non-competitive physical activities including cycling, skiing, and yoga.
Mrs Margot Hawker

Margot Hawker is a current parent, mother to Isabella and Victoria. She is a Health Professional and has joined the Foundation as the Council's representative on the Board. Margot is an involved Boarder parent and her past experience as a member of the Boarders' Support Group Executive gives her the ideal background for this position.
Ms Annette Quayle

Annette is an accountant by background and has worked in various tax, commercial and management accounting roles before moving to academia. She is a visiting doctoral researcher in the Department of Economics and Finance at QUT after returning from London where she was teaching at the London School of Economics.
Annette's research is focused on the development and reporting of non-financial performance measures and board governance across a variety of organisations. Her board experience includes roles as a Parent Governor at the Queen's Church of England Primary School, Kew where she chaired the Finance Committee.
Her interests and hobbies seem to reflect those of her children: hence spare time is a whirlwind of rowing, music, cricket, rugby and reading.
Mrs Judith Hall

Judith Hall is a current parent, mother of Alessandra. Judith has been an active member of the P&F Association and served as President from 2008-2010.
Mr Darren Barlow

Darren Barlow has been the independent Director of the Foundation since 2005 and joined the School Council as a Director in 2011. Darren's experience includes corporate strategy, securities regulation and company law together with finance and accounting. Darren chairs the Foundation's Finance Committee and is a member of the School Council Audit and Finance Committee. He is director of a number of private companies and was formerly director of a number of Government and/or Authority committes and industry associations. Darren is currently a General Manager within Finance in a top 30 ASX listed entity.
Ms Alison Quinn
BCom, FAIM, FUDIA
Director of School Council
Alison brings to the Council extensive development and investment experience in the property sector, specifically the residential and commercial fields.
She has a background in banking and finance together with significant public sector expierience which provides her with a balanced perspective and one which understands risk, governance and corporate responsibility.
Alison is the CEO for Growth Management Queensland. She is also a proud St Margaret's Old Girl.
Mr Peter Robertson
BAppSc(Mathematics), MAICD
Director of School Council
Peter is a founder of a number of diverse business covering the fields of computer software, commercial real estate development, wholesale funds management and retailing. He has also served on several private, government and NFP boards.
Peter brings to the St Margaret's Council his expertise in developing strategic business plans, governance structures and his project management skills.
